The front opens by two latches, then folds open on both sides, tripling the footprint, the then center section pulls upward and locks in place both open or closed. The viewing deck has a yellow see through viewing screen. Batteries can be installed under the desk to power the light on the top, I don’t currently have the size needed to test if it is working.
