Description: General Frank Parker [1872 1947] was a highly decorated United States Army General who began his military career in 1894 and was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War I. During World War I he successfully commanded the 1st and the 18th Infantry Brigades in battle and was then given command of the 1st Infantry Division. Listed for auction is the autograph of General Frank Parker signed on a card. The autograph is signed ''Frank Parker Brig Gen. U.S.A. 18TH Ift. Dec 31- Aug 25/18, 1st Ift Brig Aug - Oct 17/18, 1st Division Oct 17 - Nov 23/18'' in black fountain pen. The card measures 5.25 x 3.25 inches, it has trivial toning otherwise it is in fine condition. The card is affixed to a page which also contains a newspaper photograph of the general. The autograph is authentic and is a desirable example of this prominent United States Army general. We have listed a nice collection of aviators, explorers, astronaut and military autographs.This autograph is part of a unique World War I collection which was gathered by a collector who began corresponding with United States generals who served in the [AEF] American Expeditionary Force in France during World War I. The autographs we obtained between 1917 and the early 1920's, many in the collection are dated and the generals added their commands. The autographs are signed on cards which were removed from pages, overall in very good to fine condition, most have mounting remnants on the verso and collectors notations and many are accompanied with period newspaper photographs.
