I try to disclose even the slightest defect because I believe there should be no surprises when you receive it. The pieces are coated in Anchorseal, which is a very thin wax , so you can see the real color, and/or any variations in color usually hard to see through the thicker waxes. I also try to air dry most of the ebony for at least 18 months. This brings the moisture content down close to a usable level. UPDATE: I recently had the opportunity to purchase another shipment of African ebony. To my delight, there were some figured and lighter colored billets mixed in. The first few have been nothing short of amazing, it's actually hard to let them go since I think all wood, especially figured wood is beautiful. So as these billets are opened I will be listing them along side the usual black material that I have been listing for months. Shipping: In regards to shipping, I only charge what the USPS charges me to ship it. I don't charge for packaging, and depending on buyer location I will upgrade to Priority Mail(3 day)at my expense if the difference is not too much.I have found that the USPS offers reliable service at a low price, and since shipping is an expense to both of us, why not make it as cheap as possible.If you prefer another carrier, or would prefer priority 3 day shipping please let me know prior to shipping.
