Description: Temperature Sender / Sensor Plus New Pigtail Connector. Many fitments (only for use with Mechanical Gauge Style Cluster) Includes a brand new wire pigtail with the temp sensor. Update: We now have this kit that includes the sender and a new pig-tail wire harness. With that setup you can replace the sender and repair a broken connector or one that is questionable. The pigtail has approximately 11" of wire to make itegration easy. Use quality crimp inline butt connectors and/or solder the new pigtail connector to your existing factory wire and use a piece of heat shrink preferably the style with glue inside to make a nice weather protected repair. Pigtail fitment to the sensor stud is a snug fit to ensure a good connection. We ship the connector attached to the sensor. If needed you can remove the pigtail from the temp sensor to make installation easier. See the first photo and subsequent photos to see the actual sensor and the pigtail. The original factory design is setup to have a push-on terminal but sometimes this may vary or someone may have done a repair and installed an eyelet. You can use the new pigtail to repair or upgrade your existing wiring. Now you have more options. We also carry the temperature sender and the wiring pigtail both available separately. This sensor comes with a thread sealer already applied, as seen in a few of the photos. First photo is current batch and remainder of photos are stock images. There are sometimes minor variations. If this is a concern you can contact me to check on current inventory status. You can now just install, snug and connect your hookup wire. It is ready to use. Ignore the stock photo that does not show the thread sealer. Your temp sensor will have the sealer. We purchase them in bulk packs with no retail packaging. But on some OE-style temp sensors, the thermistor is encased in plastic and the life of the component can be shortened during the manufacturing process when excessively-hot material is injected into the housing. Solution: The engineers solved the reliability issue by encasing the thermistor in thermal transfer paste formulated to transfer heat. The thermistor is attached to the connector housing using resistance welding, placed into a brass housing, and then the full assembly is crimp sealed to avoid thermal damage.
