Folk Art Pottery by Erphila - Creamer - Floral Design

Description: Erphila Creamer Folk Art Pottery with multi-color Floral Design was made in Czechslovakia. It is a vintage piece with no chips, cracks or crazing. There is a little white spot on a green leaf which is rough to the touch and may have been done during the firing. The inside of the creamer is discolored near near the bottom. I have not tried to clean it because I don't want to ruin the creamer. It stands approximately 5 inches high, the base is approx. 2 1/2 inches across the bottom. Erphila is a mark used by Ebeling & Reuss on pottery and porcelain imported from Czechslovakia, Germany, and other European countries after 1920. Ebeling & Reuss was founded in Philadelphia in 1886. They imported vases, pitchers, figurines, dinnerware, and more in styles ranging from Victorian to Art Deco. The name “Erphila” is a combination of the initials “E” and “R” and the first letters of the city, “phila.” The company was sold to Strathmore Corp. of Allentown, Pennsylvania, in 2002 and is still in business. - This is an estate (pre-owned) item.
