Description: Presented is a neat pair of two Colonial American coin silver teaspoons. The spoons date to circa 1740-1765, and are both done in a simple rounded end style with upturned handles, though one has a more pronounced pip to the terminal and a shell to the back of the bowl. One spoon has a marriage monogram of H R * M, while the other is M R * H, both inscriptions in very clearly hand done engraving style typical of the time. Both were likely made in the Boston area. This pair of spoons is in great condition, particularly considering age. The shorter spoon has a little bit of a bend to the stem and some dings to the bowl. The larger spoon has a bit of rounding/uneven wear to the bowl. No splits, monogram removals, or repairs to either spoon. There are no stamps or hallmarks but both spoons have been nitric acid tested and are guaranteed at least 900 (coin) purity silver.
