Description: This is an enchanting and Fine Antique California Plein Air Impressionist Seascape Oil Painting on Canvas, attributed to the early - mid 20th century California painter, Genevieve Coardary Louis (1890 - 1973.) This artwork depicts a lovely and finely detailed seascape scene, with rollicking azure ocean waves, a water-slicked coastal rocks and shoreline, and wispy, colorful sunset clouds high above. Signed: "Louis" in the lower left corner. This artwork likely dates to the 1940's. Approximately 28 3/8 x 44 1/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 22 x 38 inches. Good overall condition for over half a century of age and storage, with moderate scuffing and scratches to the original period wood frame. Additionally, there are a few small speckles of discoloration, areas of light craquelure, and mild age-related yellowing throughout the painted surface (please see photos carefully.) This artwork would greatly benefit from a professional cleaning, which would bring out the vibrancy and brilliance of the original colors.
