FERNDOWN / LES WOOD CLASSIC ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 STAR) APPLE ESTATE PIPE W/ORNATE ORIGINAL L&JS STERLING SILVER BAND BARK FINISH AND LJS CUMBERLAND STEM Excellent Condition Les Wood has been around longer than most premium pipe carvers, but recently retired. So, we will unfortunately never see Ferndown production again. This particular piece is now what I consider to be a vintage collectible Les Wood / Ferndown. This classic Apple is an absolute gem, I've always felt Les made fantastic Saddle Stem pipes! Over 6" long, it feels amazing in hand, about a Group 5-6 with a beautifully formed bowl, nice thick walls and a healthy sized chamber. The shank is adorned with a brilliant L&JS Sterling Silver band adding class - it is not a repair band! Stem is original Cumberland Vulcanite, fishtail bit and signature LJS logo. Finish is a lovely dark finish with brown highlights on the craggy rustication and smooth polished rim. A phenomenal piece that simply will not disappoint!
