Fender Custom American Deluxe Professional II Stratocaster Shell Pink UPGRADES

Description: This is a limited edition 2022 Fender American Professional II Stratocaster Shell Pink body paired with a 2006 (Fender's 60th Diamond Anniversary) American Deluxe Stratocaster Rosewood fretboard neck and 3-ply Parchment white pickguard. While technically a "Partscaster" they are of the same model guitar of different years and not something ridiculous like a Tele neck on a Strat body. In my opinion, one of the most gorgeous color and fretboard combinations for a Fender guitar. The second generation that improved and refined the features of the wildly successful American Standard/Plus Stratocaster (1986-1999) with the addition of the beautiful abalone dot inlays paired seamlessly with a body they only made standard a couple years ago with the contoured neck pocket heel just like that of the body the neck originally came from. While I'm probably more know recently for my Jazzmaster builds, I do still love my Strats and Teles and given the lack of good options in Shell Pink I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to build one with some of my favorite features of the generations while adding my usual touches. Condition wise, the body is essentially in mint condition. For then neck while still being in very good condition for it's age I touched up the nicks and dings on the back of the neck with the drop-fill technique for playability so it's nice and smooth now along with a full fret level, so they're flat, shiny and fresh and ready for it's second act. Taking both into account I would say it's in overal excellent condition, while maybe very good if I'm being conservative. With that it's had a number of tasteful upgrades to really take it to that next level. Please read further for the full details: Weight is around 8.6 lbs -Custom modified Fender 60s style pickups. I custom-modified Fender 60s-style pickups for a more authentic vintage feel, aligning with the 60s aesthetic of the build but with modern enhancements. While I liked the original Custom Shop Fat 50s pickups, I completely overhauled the electronics. The new pickups use Alnico 5 magnets, fiber bobbins, and plain enamel magnet wire. The neck pickup comes from a Fender Robert Cray signature Strat, reading around 6.0k / 2.6h. The middle pickup, originally a bridge pickup from a Fender Vintera 60s set, also reads around 6.0k / 2.6h. The bridge pickup is a Fender Custom Shop 69 Strat pickup rewound by Zach Oswald of Brandonwound Pickups from 5.3k to a hot 7.4k / 3.2h. These pickups were selected for their wind direction, allowing for RWRP (Reverse Wound, Reverse Polarity) in the 2 and 4 positions: the neck and bridge are clockwise with north-up polarity, and the middle is counterclockwise with south-up polarity.One modern enhancement is the staggered pole pieces, with the G string pole lowered to compensate for the brighter sound of unwound G strings, which are common in modern string sets. In the past, G string poles were raised to balance the mellower tone of wound G strings. Despite Fender's excellent reissue/vintage-style pickups, many still feature vintage stagger with raised G string poles, assuming the use of wound G strings. This doesn't account for modern guitars with flatter 9.5" fretboards, exacerbating the high-end spike. To address this, I gently lowered the G string pole on all three pickups, creating a modern stagger. I also flipped the polarity on the middle pickup and changed the hot wire from white to yellow, ensuring the 2 and 4 positions are now RWRP and noise-canceling. The result is a set of vintage-style pickups, properly calibrated for modern guitars, delivering an amazing sound with added heat on the bridge. -During this process, all of the cheap PVC wire was replaced with vintage cloth push-back wire. I decided to go with the mid 90's American Standard series modern Strat pre-"Delta Tone" wiring with the TBX tone pot, so the bridge and middle pickup share the #2 TBX tone pot and the neck pickup uses the #1 tone pot. -New Fender 3-ply Parchment pickguard with Vintage White 60's pickup covers, knobs and switch tip. For some reason this guitar original came with a Tortoise Shell pickguard which just looks awful on Shell Pink. Vintage white is in-between white and parchment and is an awesome contrast over the parchment pickguard and looks incredible on top of Shell Pink. -Treble bleed circuit (.001uf cap and 1/4w 150k resistor in parallel) to allow the highs to remain when you turn the volume pot down and not get muddy. If you prefer lower output Strat pickups, just roll the volume back and this gets you there with retained clarity. Turn it back up when you want more! -Orange Drop .022uf tone cap -All of the pickup and control cavities have also been shielded with copper tape for better shielding and noise reduction -American Deluxe Strat bridge plate and chromed block saddles. This is a really nice touch over the original powder coated saddles and it's also the pre-2012 version which is thicker and has better sustain -Callaham enhanced tremolo block. This is a huge upgrade over the stock block and has more sustain and noticeably nicer tone even when you play the guitar acoustically -Five tremolo springs (instead of the three it came with) -Full fret-level, crown and polish ($150+ value alone). There wasn't much fret wear, but I felt this guitar deserved to be fully restored back to tip-top playing condition and this was part of it. The frets are now flatter than from the factory, shiny and fresh!-Fender current production lightweight aluminum Corona, CA micro-tilt neck plate. These neck plates are 1/4 of the weight of the older steel ones and shave off a little weight (0.5 oz vs 2 oz) -Current production Fender American Elite/Ultra 18:1 locking all short post tuners (with vintage style buttons) for finer tuning adjustment and stability vs the original 16:1 tuners. Unlike a full set of locking tuners which are 3x3 staggered, these are all short giving you a better break angle and sustain on the D string -Fender/Schaller strap locks and buttons (in the case compartment) -Fender G&G Deluxe Hard Case from a Eric Johnson Strat (sells for nearly $300 alone) in blonde tolex with brown leather ends/handle and rare yellow plush interior (key included!). During the pandemic G&G produced some really cool interior colors I'm guessing due to supply chain issues and this one just looks awesome especially with the Shell Pink of the guitar (CoA from the body also included in zipper pouch in case compartment!) On top of these upgrades, it has also been cleaned, polished, rosewood fretboard oiled/conditioned and fully setup, currently strung with D'Addario EXL110 (10-46) strings with enough relief in the neck balanced for both lead and rhythm and a light touch (5/64" string height on the low E and 4/64" on the high E strings). The saddles have been perfectly intonated and adjusted to the 9.5" fretboard radius. The nut slots have been cleaned and filed for optimal contact and take off points for better sustain. The neck, middle and bridge pickup heights are adjusted to 6/64" on the bass side and 5/64" on the treble side. The tremolo has also been "decked" flush against the body for better tuning stability and sustain. I fully stand by the work and believe you'll get a much better playing and sounding guitar here because of the selection of upgrades and attention to detail in the setup than if you an American Deluxe, Professional or Standard off the shelf for hundreds more.
