Having been printed in 1896, this would be the old Latin Mass as described by a 17th Century theologian, Martin of Cochem. This appears to be the first and possibly only English language translation of the book until print on demand books became common Published by Benziger Brothers with a preface by Camillus P Maes. Maes was a Belgian-born Americanl prelate of the Catholic Church and served as the third Bishop of Covington. Martin Von Cochem was born in 1630 and died in 1714. He was a German Capuchin theologian, preacher ans ascetic writer. The preface of this 1896 book describes itself as an "old-fashioned book". This was a book that did not take the Mass and the supernatural life of the Church in the "modern" way of the 19th Century man. Men of this time no longer believed in the literal "real immolation of His body and the actual spilling of His blood" during communion. The Preface of this book also includes the "third Century of the Christian era", so this book is definitely worth a look. This is a very difficult book to come by in an English translation from the original German. PLEASE USE ZOOM FUNCTION ON ALL PHOTOS AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION.
