Ferdinand Fairfax Stone (December 12, 1908 – June 10, 1989) was a distinguished American law professor at Tulane University Law School, noted for his expertise in comparative law. Born in Urbana, Ohio, Stone graduated from Ohio State University with both bachelor's and master's degrees before earning a Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford University in England. At Oxford, he completed two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s, later achieving a doctorate from Yale University. Stone authored numerous books and articles on comparative law, writing in both French and English.
