Description: "Endless 2" Oil Painting on Canvas Size : 46 Inches * 35.8 Inches Material : Canvas, Ink, Acryl, Stainless Steel Objet Year : 2016 Description of work The oriental five direction color, which is a traditional Korean color, is refers to five colors: yellow, blue, white, red, and black. It is based on Yin-Yang and Five-Elements said that the energy of yin and yang emerged and became the sky and the earth, and the two energies of yin and yang created the five elements of wood, fire, soil, gold, and water. The five elements are followed by five colors and a direction, with the center and the four sides as the basis. It means that yellow is the center, blue is the east, white is the west, red is the south, and the black is the north. By mixing the five oriental colors of yellow, blue, white, red, and black, the color of the earth was realized as much as possible, and the maternal hometown of Gaia, the earthly god of fertilization, was expressed. It is a work that expresses the land where all things are created and extinguished, and the union and dissolution of the people who exist on the land. The earth as the opposite meaning of the sky is the empty side (blank) of the large earth, but the earth is also a moist feeding line that the rainwater seeping down into the broad sides filled with oriental thoughts is a nutrient to the life of the earth. The group statues in the work represent raindrops, and the binding and solidarity of each human being in the rainwater is expressed as a seed that expresses the power of life from the earth to the sky.
