Description: Here is a very nice piece of Elbaite crystals on Quartz, from Kunar Afghanistan. The back of this large display specimen has natural contacting, where it was extracted from the surrounding bedrock. The front however is where all the fun is. There are two discrete area's of Elbaite crystals, one larger, double terminated zoned crystal, with light mid section and blueish terminations. And then elsewhere on the specimen a nest of blueish/green terminated Tourmaline crystals. Very unusual color, lighter than standard Elbaite, but not quite blue either. The Elbaites grow on large Quartz crystals, and are accompanies by white Feldspar. Just a very nice pegmatite specimen.This specimen is 1.198 kg, or 2 lb and 10 1/4 oz. The specimen is 6 inch x 4.5inch x 3.5 inch. Please be advised, I ship with Priority box, medium, due to size and weight.
