Description: Description: Eazi-Breed™ CIDR Cattle Inserts are controlled internal drug release inserts for use in beef and dairy cattle to support successful breeding programs. Each insert contains 1.38 g of progesterone in molded silicone over a flexible nylon spine with an attached polyester tail for easy removal. The use of Eazi-Breed™ CIDR Cattle Inserts in cows and heifers can result in a variety of improvements to beef or dairy reproduction programs, including: More cows and heifers becoming pregnant earlier Easier and more accurate heat detection Heifers freshening at a younger and more consistent age Accurate breeding and calving dates Improved labor management Use one intravaginal insert per animal. Inserts release progesterone for a seven-day treatment period. For synchronization of estrus in beef cows, replacement beef heifers, and replacement dairy heifers, an injection of Lutalyse® must be administered one day prior to insert removal. For synchronization of estrus in lactating dairy cows, an injection of Lutalyse® must be administered on treatment day seven, when the insert is removed. Removal of the insert on the seventh treatment day results in a drop in plasma progesterone levels, which triggers estrus within three days. Supplied as a pack containing 10 inserts. CIDR Applicator Device for Cattle sold separately. Lutalyse is also sold separately, and requires a veterinarian's prescription for purchase. For synchronization of estrus in suckled beef cows and replacement beef and dairy heifers, advancement of first postpartum estrus in suckled beef cows, and advancement of first pubertal estrus in beef heifers: Administer one Eazi-Breed™ CIDR Cattle Insert per animal for 7 days. For synchronization of the return to estrus in lactating dairy cows inseminated at the immediately preceding estrus: Administer one Eazi-Breed™ CIDR Cattle Insert per animal 14±1 days after insemination. Remove Eazi-Breed™ CIDR Cattle Insert 7 days later. For synchronization of estrus in lactating dairy cows, you must use the Eazi-Breed™ CIDR Cattle Insert concurrently with an injection of 5 ml of LUTALYSE Sterile Solution (equivalent to 5 mg/ml dinoprost) administered on Day 7, at the time of Eazi-Breed™ CIDR Cattle Insert removal, to assure maximum effectiveness. For synchronizing the return to estrus in lactating dairy cows inseminated at the immediately preceding estrus, do not administer LUTALYSE Sterile Solution or other prostaglandin products as they will interrupt pregnancy that may have occurred at the preceding estrus. For synchronization of estrus in suckled beef cows and replacement beef and dairy heifers, advancement of first postpartum estrus in suckled beef cows, and advancement of first pubertal estrus in beef heifers, you must use the Eazi-Breed™ CIDR Cattle Insert concurrently with an injection of 5 ml of LUTALYSE Sterile Solution (equivalent to 5 mg/ml dinoprost) administered on Day 6 of the 7-day administration period to assure maximum effectiveness. Cautions: Do not use in beef or dairy heifers of insufficient size or age for breeding or in cattle with abnormal, immature or infected genital tracts. Do not use in beef cows that are less than 20 days postpartum or in lactating dairy cows less than 40 days postpartum. Do not use an insert more than once. To prevent the potential transmission of venereal and blood borne diseases the Eazi-Breed™ CIDR Cattle Insert should be disposed after a single use. Intravaginal administration of Eazi-Breed™ CIDR Cattle Insert for periods greater than 7 days may result in reduced fertility. Storage: Store at controlled room temperature 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F) with excursions between 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F).
