Description: E. Howard Series 7 Size N Solid 18K Yellow Gold Open Face Pocket Watch ca. 1874. This handsome antique E. Howard pocket watch has a solid 18k yellow gold case measuring approximately 54.7mm in diameter x 3 1/8 inches long including bow. The bow easily pulls off, so be cautious. The case has a guilloche finish that has worn down through the years and is not as prominent as it once was. The case back has a small dent on the upper left side, but overall light wear for it's age. The hinged front bezel, back case and dust cover open, close and secure shut properly. The white enamel dial has black Roman numeral hour markers, blue spade/whip hands, a double sunk seconds register at six o'clock, and is marked "E. Howard & Co. Boston - Pat. Feb. 4th 1865". The dial has the start of a very faint hairline from the center to the seconds register, but is in otherwise excellent condition with minimal aging. The acrylic crystal is in great condition with minor surface wear. The inside case is stamped "E.H.&Co. - Warranted 18K - 20822". The dust cover is engraved "Presented To A.E. Hewitt by his Wife Christmas,1874.". The inside dust cover is stamped "20822". The gilt movement is stamped "E. Howard & Co. Boston - 41027 - N - Adjusted". All screws and jewels appear to be in great condition. Stem wind and set. This watch is running approximately 3 - 5 minutes fast per 24 hours. No guarantee of future performance. This collectible E.
