Description: Dutch Silver Rattail Spoon Hunter with Dog Handle End & Wild Man Hallmarked with Engraved Dedication Presented is a Dutch solid silver Collectors or serving Rattail spoon with an excellent detailed Figural on handles End and a wild man face peering out of the connection from handle to bowl. This great piece is hallmarked for 833 Dutch silver with a makers mark for silver made circa 1900 ; American standard sterling silver is 925 fine so there is slightly less silver in this alloy. I have placed a picture of my research in the photos above. This great piece has a beautifully engraved dedication around the back of the spoon bowls and a lovely personalized pin-prick dedication across the back of the spoon: please see pictures for details. It is a fantastic piece with no dents, only some fine dings, some nicks in the edge of the bowl, some fine tip ware and some fine scratches form gentle use and care. It is an excellent piece for for the collector of silver and antique souvenir spoons. It is a great piece of history for any number of uses and makes an interesting topic of conversation.
