Author Biography Franz Kafka (1883 -1924 ) war ein deutschsprachiger Schriftsteller. Sein Hauptwerk bilden neben drei Romanfragmenten (Der Process, Das Schloss und Der Verschollene) zahlreiche Erzahlungen. Kafkas Werke wurden zum groeren Teil erst nach seinem Tod und gegen seine letztwillige Verfugung von seinem Freund Max Brod veroffentlicht. Kafka verbrachte den Hauptteil seines Lebens in Prag, das bis zum Ende des Ersten Weltkrieges im Jahr 1918 zum Vielvolkerstaat der Monarchie Osterreich-Ungarn gehorte und nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg Hauptstadt der neu gegrundeten Tschechoslowakei wurde.
