This set of two mini-statues from DC Direct features the baby Superman in two different scenes. The first figurine is titled "Departure from Krypton" and shows Superman's parents (Jor-el and Lara) putting him in a space capsule to escape their dying planet. The mini-statue is 6.5" tall x 5" wide x 3.75" deep. Here is the description of the scene from the side of the box: "The destruction of the distant planet Krypton was near! Scientist Jor-El and his wife, Lara, would die with their homeworld...but their infant son Kal-el would survive, rocketed to Earth! As Krypton shudders in its death throes, Jor-El and Lara place their beloved son in the rocket that will carry him to survival...and to his ultimate destiny as the world's greatest super hero!" The second figurine is titled "Arrival in Smallville" shows Jonathon and Martha Kent finding a baby Superman in his space capsule. The mini-statue is 7.25" tall x 5.5" wide x 6.5" deep. Both of these original statues were designed and sculpted by William Paquet, these collectibles are hand-painted cold-cast resin mini statues. They were manufactured in 2006 and are now no longer being produced. These were limited, but I'm not sure what the actual production size was. The set is perfect for fans of the iconic comic book series and collectors of merchandise and memorabilia. The statues were displayed in a glass curio cabinet side by side to highlight Superman's journey. They are both in very good condition and would make a wonderful addition to your Superman or superhero collection. NOTE ABOUT BOXES: Each figurine comes in its original box. However, I do not have the original packaging materials. To save room, I took all that out and folded the boxes for storage. So I will carefully wrap each sculpture in heavy bubble wrap and cushion them inside the boxes with plenty of packing around them. They will also be surrounded with lots of packing materials in the shipping box as well.
