Description: Dayak Beaded Green and Gold Earrings from Sarawak on the Island of Borneo Shipped USPS First Class This pair of beaded earrings is typical of the tribal artwork of the indigenous Dayak people, who live in the Sarawak and Sabah states of Malaysian Borneo and the Kalimantan state of Indonesian Borneo. The Dayaks have a long tradition of beadwork, with beaded items serving as personal adornment, dowries, currency, and symbols of status and spiritual power. These beautiful earrings were purchased in Sarawak from a Dayak craftsman from the Orang Ulu tribe in the early 1990s. The earrings are about 3.5 inches long (8.9 cm) and include silicone backs for the French hook wires, which are gold tone. Note: The gold beads are not metallic gold. The set is in Like New condition. If you have a problem with your purchase please contact us before leaving any neutral or negative feedback and we will do what we can to resolve the problem.
