On that day, from Staten Island, where I was stationed. I brought almost 70 Firefighters from Rescue 5 down into the war zone on that faithful day. Sadly, only 75% came home. I've never forgotten them. I try not to feel guilty about doing my job. I couldn't tell you why I bought all this stuff. Maybe I was overcome with the situation. But I never opened any of the memorabilia that I bought. I never will forget that day. It is embedded inside of me. I still have a lot of grief from that day.
