Description: CWC W10 MECHANICAL WRISTWATCH (BRITISH ARMY) - DATED 1976 This is a superb example of an early CWC W10 watch as supplied to the British Armed Forces from 1976 - 1980. Much rarer than the G10 CWC watches which followed, and were quartz as opposed to being mechanical. The design of these W10 watches was a follow-on from the almost identical Hamilton watch (which were made in the USA). This version uses the ETA2750 movement, whereas the Hamilton used a 649 one. The markings to the rear indicate that this particular watch was issued to the British Army (W10, as opposed to 'B' or 'BB' which were the RAF or Navy markings). Its serial number is 8820/76 (indicating 1976) There is plenty of information available on the internet regarding these rare watches so, rather than me drivel on I would suggest interested parties do a search for information. Condition is excellent (especially when one considers that it is now almost 50 years old). Very, very slight scratches to the crystal and almost unmarked casing. Strap is a brand new genuine CWC 18mm NATO version in Antique Grey. Thank you for looking at this fantastic piece of British military history. Watch will be posted securely packed, fully insured and tracked.
