Custom Shielded Test Probe - for Vintage Test Gear

Description: This listing is for the - KK4HXJ - Shielded Test Probe: This probe is a shielded test probe which is constructed from RG174 Shielded coax in the manner of modern Oscilloscope probes (probe and a ground lead with alligator clip) using the same tested materials and construction techniques as my popular VTVM Probes and Eico Signal Tracer probes - the probes are constructed without any resistors, diodes or capacitors in the probe bodies - they are straight through The center conductor of the coax is connected to the tip of the probe, the shield of the connector is connected to the ground and the shield is connected to the Ground wire and alligator clip probe is 36" long with a 1' ground wire and Alligator clip Probe is drilled and injected with hot glue as a strain relief to protect the fragile inner conductor of the coax (as far as I know, I invented the technique!) The Ground wire is connected to the shield using a piece of braided ground strap and then wrapped in 2 layers of heat shrink tubing (I've never seen this done anywhere before either!) Both techniques result in a durable, flexible, long lasting and functional probe This probe can be used with many: Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, VOMs, Etc...
