We heat them up together and then fold the bar over and over to get the desired layers, we get up to 384 layers and we burn the blade in acid, and it turns the nickel satiny color and the high carbon steel turns blackish gray. This is how the layers are exposed to show the layers of the new steel created coined "Damascus steel". All Damascus steel bars are etched to bring up the layers and cut into the required shape of different blades. All the process is done by hands, we do not treat with CNC machines.
