Custom Budget Gaming PC

Description: This computer is a modified Dell Optiplex 790. It is running an Intel Core I5-2400 CPU and comes with 12GB of DDR3 memory. It contains a 240GB SSD for the operating system and a 250GB HDD for storage. Using the SSD for the operating system results in a very responsive and very fast machine. Coupled with the AMD Radeon RX 550, this machine is a pretty good entry level gaming computer. This combination will play most, if not all, 'e-sports' titles and many big titles like Call of Duty Modern Warfare at over 60FPS on low to medium settings at 1080p. The 4GB VRAM on the 550 also allows for more textures in many games, making them look better as well. As a general purpose computer, running an activated Windows 10 Pro, you will be able to crunch those spreadsheets, create the next big novel, edit your award winning photos and edit the next big video release on YouTube. So, what's the catch? As this is a repurposed Dell Optiplex and since Dell loves non-standard cables, the new case does not have a front panel that is fully functional. The upper USB port, the power and drive LED's and the reset button are non-functional. The lower USB port and the power button are functional. The power indicator and the drive activity lights can be seen in the lower left corner of the case front. All connections on the rear are functional, though they are only powered while the computer is 'on'. Upgradeability: As this motherboard supports second generation Intel CPU's, and has the i5, there is room to upgrade the CPU. The motherboard can handle most second gen Intel Core CPU's, some Xeons and Celerons. The best and fastest CPU for the system would be the Intel Core I7-2700K. The more popular variant is the Core I7-2600K. The computer comes with 12GB of DDR3 but can be upgraded to a full 16GB. There is an additional PCI slot. Please Note: the nVidia GT730 that is shown in the pictures was for testing the system out. The AMD Radeon RX 550 is what is the system. The label in the upper right of the case was also removed. It was on the case for photographing for another site. Lastly, the system includes a power cable and a DVI cable. Your monitor/TV will also need a DVI input or you will need a DVI to HDMI converter.
