Description: COBI Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind #2548 The Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind, or "Air Trumpet," is a German self-propelled anti-aircraft gun from the final period of World War II. It was built on the chassis of the Third Reich's most popular tank, the Panzer IV. Production dates to November 1944. Chassis of older versions of the Panzer IV or newer versions withdrawn from the front for repairs were rebuilt. The traditional turret was replaced by a polygonal open turret equipped with a quadruple 20mm caliber Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun. The rotating turret proved very effective against infantry. Due to the dramatic situation of the Third Reich, production of this weapon was limited to only 87-105 copies.The model of the Wirbelwind self-propelled anti-aircraft gun based on the Panzer IV tank chassis will be built with as many as 585 high-quality COBI building blocks. The faithfully reproduced World War II vehicle has been covered with prints that will not rub off during intensive play. The set also comes with two figurines of German soldiers. The gunner is equipped with binoculars. The Luftwaffe infantryman is equipped with a Mauser rifle.
