Each solid stainless steel tip includes a hole for tightening the attached cable, which can also be used to hold a lifeline. These 2-inch and 3-inch Shortie tips can also be used with longer ChiaoGoo Mini Twist cables -- sold separately in sizes 8-inch (20 cm), 14-inch (35 cm), 22-inch (55 cm), 30-inch (75 cm), and 37-inch (93 cm) lengths. This can make tip-to-tip 12-inch, 18-inch, 26-inch, 34-inch, and 41-inch circular knitting needles with 2-inch tips attached. It can make tip-to-tip 14-inch, 20-inch, 28-inch, 36-inch, and 43-inch circular knitting needles with 3-inch tips attached. These 5-inch and 6-inch Mini Twist cables fit 2-inch and 3-inch ChiaoGoo tips in sizes US-000 through US-3. However, they are too short to allow circular knitting with ChiaoGoo tips that are longer than 3-inches, and they will fit only sizes US-000 through US-1.5 in the longer tip lengths.
