Description: This listing is for an antique metal Charity Tzedakah Box from the Central Committee Knesseth Israel in Jerusalem, Israel. It is marked on the back in Hebrew with the name of Alfred Salzmann who was a Bezalel artist and teacher. I believe this to be from the 1950s. On one of the narrow sides in says in English "CENTRAL COMMITTEE KNESSETH ISRAEL P.O. BOX 192". Pictured on the front is the old city of Jerusalem and the Hebrew quote on the front it says "אם אשכחך ירושלים תשכח ימיני", which translates to "If I forget thee of Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget its skill". This is from Psalms 137:5. It also says on the front Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess. This tzedakah box measures 4 3/4" x 3 7/8" x 1 15/16". Condition: There are some scratches and rust so please see the photos for more detail. Money-back guarantee. Please feel free to ask any questions.
