Description: Chamaerops humilis var. 'Cerifera' Blue/Silver Mediterranean Fan Palm Oregon zone 6b variety Hard to find in this eco-type and hardiness! Live trees from seed collected on our property in central Oregon! The Blue/Silver Mediterranean Fan Palm is more cold hardy than the standard species, and seems to be just as vigorous growing into a beautiful hardy palm tree that can reach heights of 6 to 12+ feet, depending on climate conditions. It is a moderate grower, and performed incredibly well in our cold high desert climate in Oregon! It is hardy to at least USDA zone 7a, and parent trees have seen temperatures below 0F with some protection (zone 7a). These seeds were collected from particular trees grown on our personal property in Oregon which is listed as a zone 6b, so they should hold good cold hardiness. They were grown in a semi-protected area close to a structure. These seeds will blossom into trees that would make an excellent addition to your hardy exotic plant collection, or just make a unique statement in your yard. Also does very well in pots! You are purchasing a live specimen of Chamaerops humilis 'Cerifera' (Blue/Silver Mediterranean Fan Palm)
