C.G. Conn Elkhart #418xxx Double Brass French Horn

Description: Here's a good deal. It's a pre-owned brass C.G. Conn Ltd. double french horn that needs a little TLC. On the bell it reads, "C.G. Conn Ltd. Elkhart-Ind. U.S.A." The serial number is 418xxx. It has; nice body, string linkage, no big dents, heavy finish wear, mouthpiece and a case. (one latch is missing) All the valves move. Two of the valves need bearing caps (see pic) and one needs a screw. (see pic) Some braces have been resoldered and, maybe, some need resoldering. It has a ding here and there and has the wear of a used instrument but would detail nicely. Is this a 6D? I think, maybe, it is but I can't find a stamp on that says so. Got any info? Email me. I'm curious. Me? I'm not a repairman/collector. Buy accordingly. Looking for instruments and getting them into the hands of players is a hobby of mine. I've come across a few Conn double french horns in the past and they are prized. I'm not a player but can get a nice sound out of it. That said, you'll want to have your tech give a complete going over/give the works. I figured somebody could, at the most, fix it up or, at the least, use it for parts...and am selling as such.
