Description: From our scant research they may have been made in 1930 based upon a dated example also for sale here whose serial # is a bit higher and the Seller claims 1931. Perhaps there is a list/lists out there showing Zeiss serial #s for binos and date of manufacture. Addendum: per a friendly EBayer this set was made in 1925! So on the cusp of being a century old!!!! They are in very good to excellent vintage condition with amazingly scratch free lenses. From long experience we now know that the majority of cleaning marks on coated optics are actually on the coating. As we have successfully polished them out to, usually, expose scratch free glass surfaces beneath. And have therefore saved totally useless binos by removing just one of 14 or so coated surfaces. Because this set predates World War Two it was manufactured with completely uncoated glass. We have a number of such binos in an ever evolving collection of about 70 bins and about ten of them are uncoated. On bright sunny days one would be hard pressed to tell the difference between uncoated and coated optics! And such older binos are usually of the highest quality build wise. Compared to our vintage B&L 6x,30 views from this Zeiss are identical save for the slightly narrower Field of View (FoV). A unique feature on this set is the stamping of the name of the store that sold it: E.B. Meyrowitz. A bespoke firm still in business with offices in England! They are also our favorite size and power when walking the dogs since they are a breeze to use one handed. As the lower power show less hand shakes. We cleaned a uniform medium infestation of haze causing film off the prisms and inside surfaces of the objective and ocular lenses. Center focus wheel and right diopter now smooth with a silk like feel. Views are crisp and clear! They really "WOW!" all who use them, especially after being made aware of their age. We conditioned the vinyl covered chassis with an automotive product and the original case using a premium leather product. The original leather carry strap included for display and we added a slightly age stiffened black vinyl carry strap with which to lug this solid little beauty. It's held on using the original brass barbell keepers. No other Seller on eBay offers as much for the $$. And if not satisfied we accept returns up to three days post delivery.
