Auto focus is accurate, and manual focus is smooth. Lens has minimal dust inside and no haze. There is one small point on the multicoating that was removed in the front lens element. You can see it in the photo of the front glass. Also, the focus measurement under the window came off at one point (not sure why), so the numbers don't correspond to the actual focus point. Instead, I use the focus ratio painted on the lens. This is a great performing lens that is very sharp. It's an excellent choice for macro, portraits or street photography. See 2 example photos that I recently took with this lens, so you can see how well it performs with portraits in particular. I'm only selling to reduce the size of my kit.
