Description: I have for sale an award ribbon from the 1937 Canadian National Exhibition. This exhibition is an annual event that takes place at the Exhibition Palace in Toronto, Ontario. The first exhibition was held in 1879. The ribbon is red with gold letters, it is approximately 8 inches long and 4 inches wide at the widest point. This ribbon is very close to as made condition. At the top of the ribbon it has a medallion that looks to be made of plastic that shows the bust of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Around the bust it reads KING GEORGE VI QUEEN ELIZABETH 1937 & around the outside rim it reads CANADIAN NATIONAL EXHIBITION - CORONATION YEAR. King George VI & Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain had their coronation on May 12, 1937. On the ribbon in gold letters it reads CANADIAN - NATIONAL - EXHIBITION - 1937 - C.K.C. RULES - FIRST - PRIZE - DOGS. On the ribbon reverse it has a paper advertisement for the ribbon maker. Dominion Regalia company of Toronto, Canada and this company still exist.
