Description: One of the most famous Knights of the Round Table, Lancelot--once champion and a model of chivalry falls from grace after betraying King Arthur with Queen Guinevere.Artist Ray Lamb captures the beauty of Guinevere, the young queen in this design for Perth Pewter. She adores her king, Arthur, but her heart was rumored to have strayed to the young knight, Lancelot. This timeless love story may be no more than fantasy, but it has endured for centuries.Artist Ray Lamb captures the very essence of King Arthur in this design for Perth Pewter. Holding steadfast to his shield with the Madonna and Child engraved upon it and gazing into what the future holds for Camelot with Excalibur at his side, this piece exhibits all of the fine detail synonymous with Perth Pewter. His shield is removeable and three dimensional. The back has a handle, rivets, and all the detail you would expect from a shield.Merlin in a classic stance with his owl. His robe is adorned with symbols of stars and power. His owl is his familiar and always nearby. He carries a pouch and a blade around his waist. His shoes are simple yet stylish for their era.The beautiful enchantress was lady-in-waiting to Queen Guinevere until the Queen revealed an affair between Morgan le Fey and one of the King's knights. Later, Guinevere receives payback when her former lady outs her affair with Lancelot.Morgana, as she is also know, is said to be an animagus or magician who can turn into an animal. Her animal for is that of a bird. Others prefer to think that she was merely an experienced falconer as depicted in this piece. She is wearing a glove on the hand that holds a falcon. Still others will tell you that the have seen her transform from woman to crow. Her crown is dazzled with a Swarovski crystal as is the necklace upon her bosom. Circles within circle and other geometric shapes are embroidered on her dress. There are different stories surrounding Mordred. In Arthurian legend, he is alternately portrayed as nephew to King Arthur and as his bastard son. Mordred is the ultimate villainous traitor, having married Guinevere and usurping Arthur's throne while the King is away at battle. Artist Ray Lamb successfully captures Mordred's spirit for this Perth Pewter sculpture. Mordred carries both a sword and a mace.Sculpted by Ray Lamb for Perth Pewter.© 1978-1979 depending on the piece.Lancelot stands 4 1/4" Tall X 2 7/8" Wide X 1 1/8" Front to Back. The base is 1 3/8" Wide X 1" Deep.Guinevere stands 3 3/7" Tall X 1 1/4" Wide X 7/8" Front to Back. The base is 1 1/8" Wide X 7/8" Deep.King Arthur stands 4 3/8" Tall X 2 1/4" Wide While Holding his Shield X 1" Front to Back. The base is 1 5/8" Wide X 1" Deep.Merlin stands 4 3/4" Tall with a 1 1/2" X 1" Base.Morgan stands 3 7/8" Tall X 2 1/8" Wide on a somewhat circular base that measures just shy of 1" in diameter.Mordred stands 4 1/4" Tall X 2 1/2" Wide X 1" Front to Back. The base is 1 1/2" Wide X 1" Deep. All are 90mm Scale.Solid Lead Free Pewter
