Thanks! HistoryA stone that helps you live life to the fullest, Bumblebee Jasper is one of the most sought-after in the crystal kingdom. It’s a truly stunning stone inside and out. However, the problem is that it also happens to be quite rare!Bumblebee Jasper was first discovered in the 1990s in the Papandayan Volcano, West Java Province, Indonesia. Shortly thereafter, more appeared in Australia. Since then, geologists haven’t found any additional sources of the stone. They don’t expect to find any either due to its distinct formation environment. It gets its name courtesy the alluring pattern that can be found on it, this pattern is identical to the pattern that can be found on bumblebees.MineralogyJasper is an opaque variety of Chalcedony, and is usually associated with brown, yellow, or reddish colors, but may be used to describe other opaque colors of Chalcedony such as dark or mottled green, orange, and black. Jasper is almost always multicolored, with unique color patterns and habits. Jasper is a dense, opaque, microcrystalline variety of Quartz. Fibrous and grainy varieties of Quartz are often grouped together and referred to as Chalcedony, though Jasper’s microcrystals are laid out in large, sugar-like grains rather than the fibrous layers of Chalcedony or Agate. It occurs in nodules or as fillings in fissures and may be found all over the world, in nearly every color. Jasper is colored by oxides of iron and known for its deep earthy tones of red, yellow, brown and green, sometimes in shades of blue or purple, and displays wonderful contrasts in its banding, inclusions, “pictures,” and small circular patterns.Bumblebee Jasper, which is actually not a true Jasper, is a complex calcium carbonate mineral with inclusions of arsenic and manganese oxides. The banding and layering, which resembles a common bumblebee, is caused by inclusions of sulfur (yellow), calcium & Aragonite (white), Orpiment & Realgar (orange), and Pyrite (black). Chemical Formula: CaCO3 Mohs Hardness: 5 or below Is It Toxic? Believe it or not, Bumblebee Jasper does have some toxic components. This is a bit of a controversial topic in the crystal healing world. However, it’s actually a much more common occurrence than you might think. Many stones are actually made with some minerals that are dangerous to humans. In this case, the offending toxins are arsenic and sulfur. Arsenic and sulfur are carcinogenic substances that can have seriously negative effects on your body if ingested. For this reason, Bumblebee Jasper is considered by many to be a toxic stone. That said, it’s still relatively safe to wear and incorporate into your life. The key is to be aware of its potential dangers and be careful with handling. Always wash your hands after using the stone. It’s important to avoid any points of contact that could lead to internal problems. For example, don’t put the stone anywhere near your eyes or mouth. You should also avoid any water infusion techniques or other application methods that involve ingestion of any kind. Keep the stone clean, and don’t forget to wash your hands! Most people will have no problem using it in their crystal healing practice. The toxins are just one part of a complex stone. As long as you’re careful, they shouldn’t cause any issues whatsoever. Bumblebee Jasper probably isn’t a good candidate for a very young child’s rock collection either, just because kids tend to stick things in their mouth. MetaphysicalBumblebee Jasper is a great life talisman that is here to help keep you “buzzing” throughout your day, even when negative energies constantly come your way. This stone helps you maintain a positive and upbeat attitude through the daily stresses of life, while encouraging you to continue your own spiritual evolution. So often can the societal stress you have placed upon yourself override and suppress your soul’s growth and true potential. Practitioners say that this stone can get even the most troubled person out of an emotional slump. It rejuvenates the psyche, inspires you to find new opportunities, and sparks your creativity. Bumblebee Jasper is like a little spark of energy that refuses to die out. It keeps your aura clean and free of darkness, ensuring that you feel joyous and optimistic. This stone is a bustling talisman that’s continually protecting you from all of the dark energy that bombards you every day. Many healers recommend Bumblebee Jasper to those who suffer from chronic mental fatigue and trauma. It can also pull you up from the depths of your own mind. The unique artistry of Jasper is that of Nature itself - golden sunshine, a nighttime sky, poppy fields or a deep green forest, desert sands, the undulating ocean, red rock canyons, sweeping mountains. Each stone is a masterpiece of the Creator, bold and primitive in style, solid and earthy in form, with a warm, harmonious energy that resonates with the primal self. Its presence balances the aura to a level of wholeness and peace, and acts as a reminder that one is not here on the physical plane simply for oneself, but to bring joy and substance to others. Birthstone Bumble Bee Jasper is considered to be the natural birthstone of anyone born during the beginning of summer and the yellow color brings with it the promise of great first beginnings and high optimism. Feng ShuiBumble Bee Jasper has subdued fire energy but is generally used in the center of a home or room to bring cheerfulness, light, and energy to the entire space. Yellow is the color of the middle of the year, the middle of space, the sun, and light energy. Use yellow quartz in the center of a space to energize and vitalize it.
