A nice compact edition of Longfellow's works (165 x 115mm) including sundry illustrations.The Inside front cover is inscribed with an early owner (1873). The binding is strong. However, the title page and contents pages are detached at the bottom up to the middle.The leather and marbled paper hardback cover has edge and corner bumps and general wear commensurate with age. The page edges were similarly marbled but these are now toned with age. Pages are toned with occasional spotting and evidence of page corners having been turned over. See photo 10 which shows stain / water damage to illustration, and to page edges. Similar damage to illustration on page 590. Otherwise, no bends, creases, tears or repairs noted.The book shown is the one you will receive. Please see the photos for condition as they form part of the description.
