Description: AT THE WINDOW Artist: ANTON EBERT A HIGH QUALITY PHOTOGRAVURE PRINTED IN THE 1880'S!! PERFECT FOR FRAMING AS AN ART PRINT FOR YOUR DEN !! VERY ANTIQUE & OLD WORLD LOOKING. ITEM(s) OVER 110 YEARS OLD!! The author of this winsome picture is one-of the younger painters of Vienna, and a pupil of Waldmuller. His rich endowment of talent, including an unusual facility of execution, has enabled him already to produce a large number of works. While treating all genre subjects with naturalness and spirit, he particularly excels in the delineation of childlife. One who loves children, and enters into their guileless pleasures, and can reproduce either by pen or pencil their characteristic traits and diversions, must himself retain somewhat of the freshness and faith of the child-nature. Full of charm is the happy vision of these little maidens "At the Window!" Sisters they are, no doubt, though one is dark and the other fair. They are fresher and brighter even than the flowers they play with sweet blossoms of humanity. Appearing at dewy morn at a casement round which vines are trailing, we might think of them as morning glories, did not the comparison do them injustice: for childhood's loveliness abides through the livelong day. The younger of the children has evidently just risen from infancy's refreshing sleep; and before submitting to the serious duty of dressing she has sought pleasure at the window. Her sister attends her with an elder sister's care and pride. Evidently they are exchanging signs with some little neighbors at an opposite window. Selecting one of the roses the little blonde holds it against the raven locks of her sister and smilingly anticipates approval of her taste. In drawing, color, modelling, and, above all, in truth of expression, the picture is a finished work of art. SIZE: Image size in inches is 7 1/2" x 10", overall page size is 10 1/2 " x 16 1/2".
