LAST BUYER HAD ONE IN THE EARLY DAYS. GAVE IT AWAY, HAD BEEN SEARCHING. HE WAS SHOCKED I SOLD ONE AS CHEAPLY AS I DID… They were free to me and the auction houses take forever to pay out (SEE LAST PIC FOR THE RESULT OF THE LAST TENNER I PUT TO AUCTION)… THIS AUCTION IS FOR (ONE) TENNER I received a few Tenners during a trip to London in 2005. I was visiting a girlfriend who was on a study abroad. It was during this time (through a friend of hers) I learned of Paul and Luke insect, Modern Toss, Vhils, Faile, Lee Eelus and many, many others. INCLUDING AN ARTIST I KEPT HEARING OF… “BANK-SKI”… That’s how it sounded at the time. I of course, soon realized it was pronounced “Banksy” and the rest is history. As they say:.. Since then I have steadily collected the Banksy art amongst many other French as well as British street artists. I was able to attend the last day of “cut and run” in Glasgow. It has been a part of me over these last twenty years and will always remain a part of me. Due to the abominable economy I am reluctantly selling a few pieces of art on eBay. I have a few tenners I will be posting as well as a few of the Banksy stickers (road sign series— I had a friend in the UK send a self addressed stamped envelope in and you got back about thirty stickers. The tenners are a bit over 5.6” in length and just about 3” in height. Each tenner will come in a Perspex frame with a stand (or a gold frame — nothing too nice (just a ready made matted frame that looks cool. Se pics you can pic between the two). I do not have any sort of COA for these. As I have had them long before they were worth any sort of tangible money. The tenners are all in good shape as they have been in a box inside a plastic storage bin for many years. The colours are vibrant on them. On the front ; - Princess Diana in the place of Queen Elizabeth - At the top “Banksy of England” (as opposed to “Bank of England”). - Below “Banksy of England” it states “ I promise to pay the bearer on demand the ultimate price”. - Bottom left front “P.O.W DI-FACED CURRENCY” On the back; -Below Charles Darwin “Trust No One” Please feel free to send any questions. Some are absolutely ridiculous and make no sense. These were not silkscreens. They were simple lithos. I also have many of the banksy prints as well as the older POWS prints I have always had.
