He likes to manipulate others to get his way, and is a real troublemaker. Despite this, he does have a good streak in him deep down, but he rarely shows it. Besides, every good story needs a villain, don’t you think? Diesel is a British Railway’s Class 08 diesel-electric shunting locomotive, which actually makes him the brother of the other Class 08 diesels in the series: Paxton, twins Iron ‘Arry and Iron Bert, (all 3 of the previous have/had Bachmann Thomas Models as well!) Sidney, and another set of twins Splatter and Dodge. The model is the version of Diesel with his smiling face, and is in Excellent Used Condition. As is the case with most Bachmann Thomas HO/OO engines, Diesel’s eyes move side-to-side as he rolls along the track.Bachmann Devious Diesel models do run rather slowly, however this is actually accurate to the original basis as Class 08’s in real life have a maximum speed of 20 mph (miles per hour) because they are designed for shunting.
