Authentic Vintage Channel Marker Buoy Lights Red Fresnel Lens Lamp Changer

Description: Offered for sale is an authentic Great Lakes channel marker buoy light for a red port side marker buoy or pier. This is a vintage item made of heavy aluminum construction and a red glass cast Fresnel drum lens. It is held together with marine grade stainless steel astragal posts and housing bolts. This style of buoy light was the successor of the older acetylene and other compressed gas operated lighting apparatus and can still occasionally be seen today installed on piers and channel markers throughout the Great Lakes region. The cast aluminum construction of the housing dates this likely between the late 1950s and the 1980s when they began to use composite lenses and plastic housings in maritime lighting applications. They are in good condition and would make an excellent display at a cottage or as an example of more contemporary navigational aids in a nautical collection. This came from Ontario, Canada and is part of a lot of three, one without the wiring system and two with the original electronics. They are being sold separately. They are near identical in condition with the only difference being wiring. This Listing is for one that has original wiring and bulb changer apparatus.
