Aurora TJet Chassis, Eyeleted Thunderjet, AJ's Silicone Threaded Rear Wheels

Description: Here up for sale is a used, running Aurora Thunderjet chassis from the mid 1960s. It is the solid-rivet type, and has a red/green/goldish wire motor with gray laminations, black magnets, and AJ's silicone rear tires factory bonded to aluminum threaded wheels. The rear tires measure 7/16" o.d. by about 5/32" wide, and they work well. Front tires are o-rings. The front wheels are in the back hole position, but you can easily move the front axle to the forward hole to fit other TJet bodies where appropriate. Front wheels have been painted silver. Depending on the body style you use, you may or may not need to either raise the back of the body with spacers or enlarge the rear wheel wells to fit the rear tires. Bottom of chassis has some green tarnish present, and some red paint applied to the back bottom area. Pickup shoes have wear but still have some useful running life. The motor and gear train run fairly smoothly. Guide pin and screws not included.. The rear tires measure 7/16" o.d. by about 5/32" wide, and they work well. Overall width of the rear wheels is set at about 1+1/8". The front wheels are in the rear hole position, but you can easily move the front axle to the forward hole to fit other TJet bodies where appropriate. Depending on the body style you use, you may or may not need to either raise the back of the body with spacers or enlarge the rear wheel wells to fit the rear tires. Gear plate was originally for a lighted flamethrower, so the front light bulb bracket is still present. Pickup shoes have some wear. Front magnet has been shimmed with some masking tape to make it stay in the chassis. The gear train is on the noisy side but still runs okay although not with very high rpms.
