Even a turtle reaches his destination before a rabbit when he stays steady on course. Here's a short excerpt from the book: 'Attitude Instrument We have all heard that attitude is everything. I don't know how many of us really understand the reality of it, but visualize this. You are flying an airplane and you cannot see outside. You are flying totally based on the indications of the instruments. You have what is called an Attitude Indicator in the cockpit that tells you not only which side is up and which side is down, but it also indicates a climbing, descending and a banking attitude of your airplane... You'll understand the importance of the attitude if you know this one thing about airplanes, that the plane cannot keep increasing its nose up attitude higher and higher forever. There is such a thing what we call a "critical angle of attack" at which point the plane stops flying and the nose drops down once you reach this critical attitude. When this happens, the plane will come down whether you like it or not. How this relates to life is the same thing that happens when someone is high minded and has a lofty attitude. Eventually that person will come down. This, too, is scriptural. In Proverbs 16:18 it tells us that "Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall". Disorientation Unless you trust your instruments, it would be very easy to become disoriented when flying without the outside reference and feeling the outside forces affecting the airplane. Kinesthetic sense is very unreliable, because the body can't tell the difference between gravity and G-loads. Visual illusions (especially at night) can make it worse. We have touched this subject earlier when talking about trusting your instruments, i.e. trusting the Word. Don’t be fooled by the devil’s illusions and symptoms. Don’t go by sense feelings, believe the Word only... Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude Your attitude does determine your altitude, but there's another element that's also needed, and that's power. You must put some power behind your attitude in order to climb to new horizons! This power scripturally is your words. Just like the airplane needs fuel to be powered up, so do we as Christians need to put the Word of God into our mouths. That’s the fuel to raise us up to higher levels...'
