Description: Antique Arts & Crafts Solid Copper Large Tray on Ball Feet by Sankey, 1900s Impressive solid copper dual handled tray made by Joseph Sankey and Sons (JS&S) in Bilston, England, in the late 1800s-early 1900s. During this period Sankey produced wonderful examples of the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau styles, inspired by nature and new production processes that the factory devised. The one on offer is one such example of a typical Arts and crafts design, simply stunning with beautiful decorations, patina and characterful wear marks after over 100 years of use. Stamped on underside 'Made in England, J.S & S Solid Copper'. JS&S pieces are English and appear to have been produced mainly in the early 1900's.J.S&S and J.S.&S.B registered design documents show the company name as Joseph Sankey and Sons, Limited with an address of Albert Street Works, Bilston, Staffordshire.
