They are made from ARP 300, a 100 percent maintenance free stainless steel which is stronger than grade 8, so these bolts can easily handle the weight and torque of a high performance starter that is hanging off the back of an engine. These bolts have a standard knurled shank and are rated at 170,000 psi.
