Note: Coela (Coila) was an ancient eastern Roman colony within Chersonese Thrace located on a port on the Gallipoli peninsula near Sestos. This colony was referred to as Aeliium Municipium Coila and variations of that name occur on its Roman Provincial coinage. The word "Coele", literally means "hollow" in Koine Greek. The town was located at modern Kilya, in European Turkey. It issued gold and silver coins under Alexander and from the early 2nd century AD struck Roman provincial and colonial coins.
