Description: Offered for sale is a 7 ¾-inch-tall medicine embossed with “Wayne’s / Diuretic Elixir // F.E. Suire & Co. / Cincinnati.” Bottle has been nicely tumbled. It has a sloping-collar applied top, nice amber color, wavy glass, and a post-mold base with A.&D.H.C. This is the manufacturer’s mark of Alexander and David H. Chambers who made bottles in Pittsburgh, Pa. Pennsylvania between 1843 and about 1889. This was one of the most prolific glass companies in Pittsburgh during the mid-to-late 1800s. Huge quantities of bottles, flasks, and fruit jars were made, as well as window glass. Many local, regional, and nationally distributed sodas, mineral waters, beers, bitters, tonics, and other types of products were packaged in bottles made by A.&D.H.C. Most commonly, bottles with this mark seem to date from the 1870s and 1880s. There are no chips, cracks, or bruises, and few, if any, scratches. Glass is very clean. Embossing is thick but letters are somewhat flat. A beautiful specimen! Please check all photos before purchasing. I offer a full, money back guarantee including freight on everything I sell if you think it isn’t as described. Please click on “See other items” to check out everything else I sell.
