Description: 1880s Men’s Mourning Suit in a Dark Moss Wool. Suit was likely black but has developed this patina with age. Has a polished cotton lining. Pants are unlined down legs but at waist has this peppermint stripe fabric. The suit is in good condition, the pants being in better condition. There are several moth holes on the right sleeve and a couple on the right front. Some tiny scattered moth holes on back of jacket. May have been black originally and just faded this way. The fade is more noticeable on the left than the right. Back of suit has both vent buttons, sleeves only have one button remaining. The pants have all original buttons and are just in overall better condition. This suit is in wearable condition with the addition of a few buttons. But could really be brought back with some TLC.
