Description: Antique Silver Cow Ornament South Indian Tamil Nandi 55mm High A delightful small antique silver figure of the Sacred Bull Nandi from southern India or Sri Lanka. Associated with the God Shiva, Nandi is particularly significant to the Tamil culture. This lovely figurine is made from hollow silver and shows the decorative harness associated with the bull. Dating from around the late 19th century, this pretty little bull has wonderful patination to the silver, which brings out the engraved details which are over his head, back and tail. Standing proud on a small silver plinth, this bull would be a lovely desk ornament or is perfect to place at a shrine or place of worship.
