Antique Royal Worcester Parian Mrs Hadley's Hand Vase Holding Gold Urn -REPAIRED

Description: Antique Royal Worcester Parian Ware Porcelain Mrs. Hadley's Hand Spill Vase c. 1864-5 Holding Gold Urn (Repaired - As Is) Very rare antique 19th-century Royal Worcester Parian hand vase designed by James Hadley. This vase was allegedly modeled on the hand of Hadley's wife. Her hand is supporting a gold-painted Grecian urn. The bracelet is accented with gold around the beads. Marked with a green crown and wheel mark for Royal Worcester at the base and an English diamond registration mark. Condition: Top rim of the urn has repaired cracks and is repainted is certain areas where the gold appears slightly darker. Repairs are well done and vase still displays very nicely. Some excess paste from the repair has dripped in the interior of the vase. There is one small pottery crack in between the index and middle finger (pic #10) which appears to be a natural flaw. No other noted cracks, chips, hairlines or crazing. Some surface wear consistent with age such as small scratches on the gold parts. If there are any other minor flaws such as porcelain specks/imperfections, they would be natural from the making. Comes as is/made/shown. Parian ware is a type of biscuit porcelain that was made to imitate carved marble. It was developed around 1845 by the Staffordshire pottery manufacturer Mintons, and named after Paros, the Greek island renowned for its fine-textured, white Parian marble, used since antiquity for sculpture. It was also contemporaneously referred to as Statuary Porcelain by Copeland.
