Description: This is a steel engraving entitled "The Jungfrau" by T. Jeavons after a painting by W.H.BartlettWilliam Henry Bartlett (1809-1854) was a British painter known for landscape paintings, many of which were reprinted as engravings in the early 19th century. This particular print has a date of 1834, when it was published by George Virtue (London) - I believe as part of a two-volume set of Bartlett's works related to Switzerland. This image is a colored engraving of the swiss alps. Print is in good condition, with light foxing in the border of the picture. It is matted and suitable for framing!
