Description: For auction I have a large antique salt glazed stoneware jug. The jug was skillfully hand thrown in the early 1800s and has a brown colored glaze. The jug measures 16 inches tall by 8 inches at the widest and holds 2 - 3 gallons. The piece is in very good condition with only 4 small chips to the base. There is a small piece from another pot stuck on the surface. Please see photos. The jug is very similar to what I have seen from Tennessee, but I only collect stoneware and am not an expert.
